It's with mixed feelings that we report the USS VERMONT's departure on June 16th from the subase in Groton to begin her journey to a new home port in Pearl Harbor. We wish our namesake crew fair winds and following seas as they guide the boat to join Squadron 1 and prepare for their first deployment.

With the Commemorative Commissioning Ceremony completed on August 28th, the VERMONT (SSN 792) Commissioning Committee celebrated the successful completion of their mission: to provide a memorable Commissioning for the ship's officers, crew, and sponsor; the U.S. Navy; the State of Vermont and its people; and the men and women who built the ship. A picnic was held by Chairs Debra and Steve Martin at their farm in Middlesex on September 19th attended by Committee members and their spouses to celebrate our journey. Thanks for your efforts over the last 3 years, Bravo Zulu for a job well done VCC!
